The Last of the Mohicans/Native Americans

Native Americans have dealt with the colonists since the early times.  In 1757 there was the French and Indian War where there were French and Indians against the British and Indians.  The attitudes between these groups were both strained and good.  The British used the Indians for their own needs to help transport things because they knew the land and they took the opinions of the Indians doubtful when they suggested something.  The British had trouble in trusting the Indians that helped them.

In the video Native American Indian Children Boarding Schools Cherokee Carlisle the native Americans  were very disrespected and treated horrible.  For example he had a big red cone put on his head that said dunce.  When ever he would talk his first language would come out and he would get hit.  They beat him and cut off his hair.  They took him from his home and what he was used to and he was not able to follow the traditions and speak the language he speaking since he was born.

We can see that Native Americans have been through a lot of diversity due to people views on them and the traditions that they have.  In the old times tradition that people were not used to were considered bad so the Indians were considered to be bad people and wrong for how they lived.  This still goes on in the world today there is so much diversity and different traditional that people are not used to and there is a negative opinion on the tradition because it is not what they are used to seeing.

  1. About "The Last of the Mohicans," I would like to add that the Indians should not be lumped together entirely different group of people with a distinct language and culture. But as you point out, the British and the French used them.
